Medical Problems

The Indiana Hand Center has grown to become the largest free-standing facility in the world dedicated to treatment and rehabilitation of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. In addition to providing care for common upper extremity injuries, we specialize in the treatment of rare problems and paralytic/musculoskeletal conditions such as:

- Ilizarov bone lengthening
- Cerebral Palsy
- Quadraplegia
- Spasticity
- Brachial plexus injuries
- Upper extremity problems of the head-injured patient

Our fellowship-trained, board certified orthopedic surgeons specialize in performing state-of-the-art surgical procedures that incorporate the latest microsurgical techniques. Some of those procedures include:

- Joint replacement and reconstruction
- Free tissue and muscle transfers
- Reconstruction of fingers and thumbs
- Replantation of amputated fingers, hands and arms
- Toe to hand transfers
